Enrollment Information

George Washington Academy is open to all Utah students, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, or ability/disability status.

Acceptance to GWA is based on the following criteria:

    * First preference is given to students currently attending George Washington Academy who plan to return for the next academic year.
    * Second preference is given to siblings of current GWA attendees.
    * Remaining applicants will be accepted to GWA on a space-available basis.

The names of students not eligible via the first two criteria will be entered into a lottery, with the drawing held in February.  Once all classes have been filled, remaining names will be placed on the GWA wait list in the order drawn.  If an accepted student decides not to attend GWA or leaves the school during the year, their position will be offered to the next wait-listed student for that grade level.  Names remaining on the wait list at the end of the school year will roll over to the following year’s wait list.

To enter your student’s name in the lottery, you may visit our office to obtain an enrollment form, or click the link below to print it or to complete it online. Applications for the lottery are accepted until February 15th. After the deadline, applications may be submitted, but the student's name will be placed tentatively on the wait list until the next lottery occurs.

New students accepted to GWA must complete and return their registration packets (available at the office).  Those not meeting the deadline may lose their spot in the classroom, which will then be offered to the next student on the wait list.

Kindergarten
At George Washington Academy, Kindergarten classes run full day, on the same schedule as older grades.

Immunizations
As determined by Utah State Law, George Washington Academy is required to have immunization records or a waiver from the Health Department for each enrolled child. Exemptions are available to parents for medical, religious, or personal convictions. If your child has not been immunized according to the Utah Schedule, obtain an exemption form from the County Health Department. Immunization records and birth certificates are required before a child may attend.

Eye Exam
Every child entering Kindergarten must have an eye exam prior to the 1st day of school.
