Piano Lessons Mrs. Whiteside is offering beginning to intermediate piano lessons after school Monday & Tuesday (2:50 PM - 3:30 PM). These classes are designed for the student with little or no prior experience. Students will be using the Piano Marvel online site and Piano Mouse methods. Children should have a small digital (or acoustic) keyboard at home with a minimum of 61 full-sized keys. Classes are $9 per class, per week. For further information or to sign up, contact Mrs. Whiteside at the school or pick up a sign-up sheet at the front office. Choir GWA choir meets after school on Thursdays from 2:50 to 3:45.
Choir is preparing for Disney's Cinderella Kids to be presented April 22-25 at GWA Each year we have many opportunities to perform both at school at in the St. George community. This choir is a non-auditioned choir, however, expectations are
high for attendance, attention span, and willingness to memorize as
needed for performances. This group is considered an "honors group" in
that the very best in behavior and the highest degree of commitment
to attendance prevail. The students have, as a result, achieved great
things, including Superior ratings in the Performing Arts Festival, and
rave reviews from the parents and public!
Choir is contracted with Mrs. Whiteside of Whiteside Agency, and fees are paid to that agency. Fees cover costumes, music, insurance, supplies etc. Fee for choir is $4 per week, payable in advance on a trimester basis.(the spring 2012 trimester is $36.)
Fees for participation in the musical are a little higher, as we
need to fund the increased expenses for production(costs average about
$3000.)
Registration forms are available in the music room. VOLUNTEER hours can be satisfied by joining the CHOIR PARENT TEAM. All kinds of help is needed in the spring as we prepare for our big show!
